In the Fall of 2021, we had several new students join the Gear Masters FTC team. So many new members that the team decided to split in half and form a new team — Geared Up! Supported by a Rookie Grant from DEKA and FIRST Robotics, our newest team did great in their first FTC season. They competed in the Alamogordo Qualifier (which ended up being virtual). They were able to compete at the New Mexico State Championship in March, 2022, which was also their first in-person event. 

They did very well at the Championship, ending up as the 2nd Place Alliance Captain in the final round. They also earned the Motivate Award. It was an excellent rookie season, by any measure, and with many lessons learned, they’re ready to tackle next year’s challenge!
